2025 NAFIS Spring Conference

Thank you for a successful 2025 NAFIS Spring Conference!

Our theme, “Many Stories, One Voice: Shaping an Inclusive Tomorrow,” celebrates the rich diversity within the NAFIS Family while underscoring the power of unity in advocacy for Impact Aid. It reflects our shared commitment to fostering inclusivity and collaboration, vital for shaping a brighter future. This theme also honors the 50th anniversary of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), a pivotal milestone in advancing equity and access for students with disabilities. Together, we will share our unique stories and unite in one powerful voice to create meaningful change.

Why Attend?

  • Timely Insights: Gain valuable perspectives on how the recent election could affect public education, explore the current landscape of special education as we mark the 50th anniversary of IDEA and delve into other key issues impacting public education today.

  • Networking: Build connections with fellow leaders from Impact Aid-recipient districts and expand your professional network as we strengthen the NAFIS Family.
  • Advocacy: Receive practical tips to enhance your advocacy efforts and help educate the new Congress on the critical importance of Impact Aid.

Download the At-A-Glance Agenda to learn more about the programming.

Meet with Congress:

The top priority of the conference is advocacy for Impact Aid. With the future of education funding—including Impact Aid—uncertain, and an incoming Administration and Congress skeptical of the federal role in education, education programs are at risk of significant cuts. It’s vital for conference attendees to educate members of Congress on the importance of Impact Aid and advocate for its continued funding.

We encourage all attendees reach out to their Members of Congress to schedule Hill Day meetings at least two weeks in advance of the conference.

Pre-Conference Opportunity: Impact Aid Technical Assistance Workshop:

The Federally Impacted Schools Educational Foundation (FISEF, the NAFIS Foundation) is also hosting an in-depth Impact Aid technical assistance workshop immediately preceding the conference, offering the chance to build your skills on the Impact Aid application to maximize your school district’s payment. The workshop will be on Saturday, March 8, 2025 (separate registration required; additional fee applies).

We look forward to seeing you in Washington, D.C.!
